Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. On the other hand, men are like a fine wine. Well, you know how in Singapore the guy will just ask you if you want to be his or her girlfriend or not? And then you guys start dating exclusively (i.e. steady)? It's completely different here in Canada. Which makes things more complicated for me.
Here, you guys tell each other that you like each other, and you go out on dates, but you aren't exactly girlfriend/boyfriend yet. You're just...um...dating. And after a loooong while, after you've gone through a lot of dates and all that, you might get considered boyfriend/girlfriend. It's really just a matter of time and all that.
But I like to think of him as my
not-really-but-kinda-is-boyfriend because, well, I like him and he likes me and this is how it's supposed to go. But it's a shame we haven't talked in a while. I'm too shy to call him. =X
